"Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe."
1 Timothy 4:12
Cooke County Cotillion was created with the goal to help our children be comfortable in a variety of social settings so that they might be ready to be a witness of God’s glory wherever He might send them (I Corinthians 10:31-33). To meet this goal CCC provides experience and instruction in Biblically-based etiquette, fine dining manners, skills in both ballroom and modern dance, and familiarity in various social settings; such as a reception, banquet, dinner party and other formal settings.
We offer four events in the fall and four in the spring. Our last event of the season is the spring formal. The spring formal has no formal etiquette lesson or dance instruction. Students are offered the opportunity to put into practice all they have learned during the season.
Each event is preceded with a mailed invitation to the cotillion teens. An RSVP is expected. The evening begins with a short etiquette lesson followed by dinner. Dance instruction then takes place by Dr. Wendy Guess, PhD. The evening is ended with a time of general dancing.
